“Bold innovation” key to new wines

August 2nd, 2008

A new wine brand has launched in the UK, bringing with it a unique new bottle design.

Talking Retail reports Voga wine, which arrives here as a result of collaboration between British company Guy Anderson and the Italian Enoitalia, will be packaged in a distinctive cylindrical bottle.

Sales director Simon Bradbury said he was confident the brand would “excite plenty of interest”, adding: “We believe bold innovation is key in order to attract new consumers and trade others up through the wine category.”

The wine was developed to appeal to the 21 to 35-year-old market and available varieties include a traditional Pinot Grigio as well as a sparkling version. Its unique, tall bottle will come with an airtight twist cap to allow for resealing.

Buckingham Schenk recently launched a sparkling rose with a similarly unusual design, as it had developed something more like a perfume receptacle than the shape traditionally used.
