“Authentic” sauces a market first, claims maker
The makers of a new range of Chinese sauces claim they are the first such products on the UK market to offer genuine taste.
Lee Kum Kee is introducing two sauces in response to consumer interest in authentic ethnic ingredients, Talking Retail reports.
Senior business development manager for Lee Kum Kee’s European operation Jason Beaumont was quoted by the website as saying: “There is a real gap on UK fixtures for a true Chinese sauce brand that will provide quality-seeking consumers with the authentic ingredients they are after.”
He added that the Premium Brand Oyster Flavoured Sauce and Double Deluxe Soy Sauce will allow shoppers to recreate the flavours of their favourite Chinese restaurants.
Both products have been designed for use as marinades or dipping sauces, as well as general cooking ingredients.
Mars Foods recently introduced a range of sauces inspired by Chinese, Indian and Thai cooking.
