Tesco launches Colin Jackson nut range
Former world champion hurdler Colin Jackson has developed a range of nuts which go on sale this week.
Talking Retail reports that the nuts, produced by Welsh company Sunscoop, will be available in 43 Tesco stores.
Jackson said he was “delighted” to have developed the range alongside experts, explaining: “As an athlete, I have always been very focused on how food affects performance. As a result I am passionate about naturally nutritious food and believe firmly in the importance of nuts in people’s daily diet.”
The range, which includes peanuts, pistachios and cashew nuts, was officially launched at the Welsh Institute of Sport in February, with Jackson breaking the world record for throwing a peanut.
In 2006 the Daily Mail reported results of research which found that the risk of dying from a heart attack could be cut by 11 per cent by eating just two portions of nuts a week.
