Pringles extends range of ‘innovative’ crisps

July 21st, 2008

Two new flavours will be added to Pringles’ Rice Infusions line next month.

As the brand adopts an oriental approach to the summer, both sweet and sour and Peking duck with hoi sin sauce will be available for a limited time from July, according to Talking Retail.

Trade communications manager of parent company Procter & Gamble Paul Lettice claims the launch is part of the brand’s “exciting innovation programme”.

He added: “We expect further interest and excitement around the brand with this initiative, so retailers can expect to see more shoppers trialling the new variants as they widen their snacking repertoire.”

The announcement comes one year after the rice-based crisps were first introduced, during which time Talking Retail say over four million households have sampled them – giving the range a retail sales value of £14.5 million.

Upon the launch Pringles claimed it was meeting demand for “better-for-you” snacks by providing crisps with 30 per cent less fat than regular Pringles.
