Haribo responds to ‘consumer demand’

July 2nd, 2008

Sweet specialist Haribo has announced the launch of Tangfastic Sour Cherries in a separate bag line.

The tangy sweets are already part of the Tangfastics mix, but customer requests called for the company to introduce the cherries in a separate format, Talking Retail reports.

Managing director of Haribo Dunhills Herwig Vennekens stated that 2,000 consumers expressed their desire for the sweets to be made available in their own right.

“Given the consumer demand, weÂ’ve decided to launch Haribo Sour Cherries as a limited edition line at this stage,” he said.

He added that if the product is popular it could become a permanent fixture.

According to the company, Tangfastics have grown by 14 per cent over the last year, although the best-selling Haribo bag is the Starmix brand.

Yesterday, Mr Kipling announced the arrival its new product development, individually-wrapped Cake Bites contained in a cardboard tub.
