Crisp brand spices up range

July 25th, 2008

Kettle Chips has announced the addition of red Thai curry to its range of crisp flavours.

The brand, which hand cooks all its crisps in sunflower oil, says the flavour is “aromatic but feisty”, according to Talking Retail.

Marketing director Andrew Slamin claimed the brand is generating excitement through its ‘innovative’ flavours, inviting retailers to cash in on the success.

He said: “We are confident that red Thai curry will deliver incremental sales – in research the concept scored highly on purchase intent.”

Talking Retail reports the company wished to develop a hot and spicy seasoning in response to statistics suggesting such flavours are the fourth most popular in the premium crisps and snacks market, with a 13 per cent value share.

Pringles revealed similar plans yesterday, as it added sweet and sour and Peking duck with hoi sin sauce flavours to its Rice Infusions range for a limited time.
