Coagulant innovation will arrive from Chr Hansen

July 15th, 2008

The second generation of fermentation produced chymosin (FPC) is to be unveiled by Chr Hansen later this month.

Launching at IV’s International Congress in Buenos Aires, CHY-MAX M has increased milk-clotting abilities.

Marketing director of enzymes and test kits at Chr Hansen David Stroo remarked that innovations in the coagulant sector are often few and far between.

“We are thrilled that once again we are launching a truly unique coagulant to the global market. It is a revolutionary new Chymosin enzyme with a much higher specificity for coagulation than the current FPCs,” he stated.

Mr Stroo added that the new solution meets the needs of customers that were identified in research by the company.

In other news today, Chr Hansen has introduced Fresco cultures in new direct vat set packaging.

First launched in 2001, this is the latest in a number of innovations to the Fresco line of cultures.
