Baby food to be sold in ‘specially created freezers’

July 2nd, 2008

Supermarket chain Asda is to establish freezers in baby food aisles to accommodate the launch of innovative baby food.

As reported by the Telegraph, creator of Babylicious Sally Preston is to introduce a new line of frozen baby food products.

According to Ms Preston, her own experience as a mother has led her to discover a gap in the market.

“We are creating a brand new food category,” she said, stating: “It is something of a challenge for the supermarkets, but we are working well with smaller, local, stores and Ocado.”

Ms Preston added that the frozen baby food products are not often found by shoppers if they are placed next to more conventional products such as chips and peas.

Recently, Professor Andrew Kemp of the University of Sydney wrote in the British Medical Journal that further investigation into the link between food additives and hyperactive children need further investigation.
