Morrisons will soon be selling a new range of meals from TV presented Floella Benjamin.
The Playschool star has created Caribbean Kitchen meals, food inspired by her native country Trinidad, the Argus reports.
Ms Benjamin’s range of foods includes jerk chicken, vegetarian curry, calypso chicken and curried mutton.
Speaking to the paper about the new meals, Ms Benjamin described it as a “labour of love”.
“I wanted to share my culture and put Caribbean cookery into the British public’s consciousness. This encompasses everything I love and believe in,” she said.
Morrisons will stock Caribbean Kitchen meals in 50 of its stores around the UK, with 15,000 meals produced each week in a factory in Worthing.
A number of celebrities have put their name to new foods, with Anthony Worrall Thompson, the TV chef, announcing last week that he is to add some new dishes to his range of ready meals.
