New lettuce promises variety and longevity
A new innovation by English Village Salads is to arrive in Asda stores across the country.
Trio Leaf lettuce provides shoppers with equal amounts of Lollo Rosso, Lollo Biondo and Red Oak.
And the lettuce is still contained in an organic compost pot, which the company claims means the product will stay fresh for up to ten days.
Salads Buyer for Asda Werner Neuhoff explained why the supermarket had chosen to stock the innovative salad product.
“We know that our customers enjoy the freshness of wholehead salads but have become bored with the lack of variety, Trio Leaf not only provides variety but the unique way it is harvested means that it stays fresher for longer,” he said.
According to research by the company, customers are looking for more variety of leaves combined with the freshness of buying a whole head of lettuce.
English Village Salads recently scooped the Stubbins Innovation of the Year accolade at the Re:fresh awards.
