New coulis offered to foodservice market

June 9th, 2008

A new fruit coulis in a number of flavours has been launched by Macphie.

The company has pioneered ku-li, a product that does not need to be decanted before use.

Available in raspberry, mango and blackcurrant flavours, the coulis is free from artificial flavours, colours and preservatives.

Furthermore, the product only contains 0.5 per cent fat, Macphie said.

Marketing operations manager at the company Emma Watson stated that there are a number of benefits to the product.

“Featuring a twist and turn nozzle, chefs can use their creative flair to produce very accurate plate decorations straight from the bottle,” she said.

Ms Watson remarked that the company’s chefs “are passionate about developing ever more exciting products”, indicating that more innovative products could be on the way.

Macphie also produces glazes, sauces, release agents, cream alternatives, desserts, ferments, icings, fillings and custards.
