New approach for egg processing

June 4th, 2008

Egg quality and safety has been highlighted in an innovative concept in egg production and processing.

DSM has launched Total Concept, based on animal nutrition, diagnostic equipment and cutting-edge processing enzymes.

This maximises the potential at every stage of the egg production process, the company suggests.

The PremiTest diagnostic testing kits screen for antibiotic residues and antimicrobial substances and can include the option of a Premi®Test for Salmonella, which can detect 72 Salmonellae serotypes within three days, the company says.

Industry manager at DSM Theo Verleunsaid: “This new concept brings together market leading expertise from within DSM into an integrated offer with clear advantages.

“We aim to build on the extremely positive feedback we have received so far.”

DSM is a global supplier to the food and drink industry and specialises in fermentation and enzyme technology with a focus on care for quality, safety, health and the environment, according to its website.
