‘Healthy meals’ chosen by families
Families are no longer eating frozen pizzas and chips, but healthier options instead, new research has suggested.
A survey by allaboutyou.com has shown that popular family meals include risottos, sausages and mash, chicken fajitas, Thai green curries and even the odd stir fry, the Daily Express reports.
Furthermore, the amount of families sitting around a dinner table to eat their meals has doubled compared to five years ago.
And 15 per cent of families have a pudding every day, the survey revealed.
Editor of website allaboutyou.com Bernadette Fallon described the importance of the findings.
“Taking time to re-invest in traditional family rituals can only be a good thing, helping to promote happy relationships, healthy eating and quality time together.”
However, Birds Eye recently told Talking Retail that more consumers are purchasing frozen foods in a bid to prevent wastage and it is to launch a new advertising campaign highlighting this fact.
