Bertolli Baked Bites arrive soon

June 25th, 2008

Bertolli is to extend its reach in the savoury snacking sector with a new product, parent company Burton Foods has announced.

Bertolli Baked Bites created using Bertolli Olive Oil, follow recent product launches from the firm, including Savoury Nibbles, Liguarian Flatbreads and Foccacia Crackers, Food and Drink Towers reports.

Launching in June, the crisps will be available in sea salt and black pepper, sweet chilli and red pepper and Italian cheese and red onion flavours.

Burton Foods’ marketing director Jaspal Chada commented on the success of the Savoury Nibbles product.

“It was one of the biggest NPD [new product development] launches of 2007 in the biscuit category. The brand has significant potential for further growth since it meets consumer needs for great taste with provenance,” he said.

In other news today, Ryvita has announced it is to enter the crisps category with its Limbos products – crisps that are baked not fried.
