Walkers gets oriental inspiration
Crisp giant Walkers has announced that it has taken flavours from the East to develop its new product.
Szechuan Spice is the new flavour for its Sensations range of crisps, Talking Retail reports.
The crisp offers flavours of ginger, lemongrass, coriander, chilli and soy sauce, the firm claims.
Walkers impulse director David Biggs stated that the new flavour is set to be a hit with crisp fans.
“New Szechuan Spice is one of the strongest performing flavours we’ve tested with consumers,” he said.
“A range of Sensations in both impulse and sharing formats” will help retailers maximise sales, Mr Biggs added.
The new Szechuan Spice crisps will be available in 40g and 175g bags for both individual and sharing experiences.
A new range of snacks including crisps and nuts was announced this week by Global Foods.
The Sneaky Snacks line up will also include muffins and flapjacks.
