Red Bull announces ‘surprise’ cola product

May 8th, 2008

Energy drink maker Red Bull has announced that it is launch a new cola drink.

Nigel Trood, the Red Bull UK managing director, told Talking Retail that the innovation may come as a surprise to many people, something the company enjoys doing.

Furthermore, he described the beverage as an “incredibly exciting innovation for Red Bull”, adding that “it was about time we refreshed the cola category”.

According to the company, the cola beverage will be 100 per cent natural, containing no additives, preservatives, phosphoric acid or artificial colourings and flavourings.

Red Bull claims the premium cola is the only beverage on the market to contain the cola leaf and the kola nut.

“It has taken us years to create a product that we felt was of the highest quality and worthy of the Red Bull name,” Mr Trood said.

Meanwhile, Aimia Foods announced last week that it is to introduce a new range of Slazenger-branded sports drinks.
