New products aimed at young snackers

May 24th, 2008

A popular chicken snacks range has been extended with the introduction of two new flavours, according to its manufacturer.

Mattesons has added Sweet Chilli and Southern Fried flavours to its Fridge Raiders snack selection, which is aimed to appeal to young snackers between the ages of 16 and 34.

They will appear in stores at the end of April in packaging that has been rebranded with a new logo.

Marketing controller David Warren said: “The phenomenal growth of Fridge Raiders has largely been a result of attracting new people into the meat snacks sector.”

He added that the new flavours and packaging “should attract both new and existing consumers to the fixture”.

The Fridge Raiders brand is worth £11.3 million and is bought by more than 1.5 million households.

Other flavours include Roast, Tikka, and Chinese Spare Rib.

Meanwhile Global Foods has launched Sneaky Snacks, available in 12 flavours including Triple Chocolate Flavour with White Chocolate Flavour Coating and Blueberry.
