New ‘ethical’ packaging from PG Tips
Tea giant PG Tips is introducing its new packaging this month displaying the firm’s links with the Rainforest Alliance.
Packs of the tea will now display the Rainforest Alliance seal of approval, reports Talking Retail.
Following recent news that fast food chain McDonalds has switched from Tetley tea bags to PG Tips – for ethical reasons – the tea maker is doing to more to promote its links with ethical organisations.
Unilever – parent company of PG Tips – has supported the change of packaging with a £12 million advertising campaign.
Senior category manager at Unilever Beverages Adrian Adams noted the importance of ethics for consumers.
“Our partnership with the Rainforest Alliance will make it easy for the 74 per cent of consumers who claim to take ethical and environmental factors into account when choosing which brand to buy to make a difference,” he said.
