Dr Oetker introduces Paula
A new product category is being entered by food company Dr Oetker.
The firm is hoping to crack the children’s chilled desserts sector with its new product, Paula, Talking Retail reports.
A rapping cow wearing sunglasses, Paula, is the animation that promotes this custard-style chilled dessert.
According to the firm, special patented technology has been used to create cow-like splodges in the dessert.
Head of marketing at Dr Oetker Matthew Wilson stated that the dessert is something very different for the market.
“Paula is totally unique in this category; a great piece of product innovation which will help deliver incremental category growth,” he said.
He added that in Europe, Paula has been “flying off the shelves”.
The dessert will be available in two colours; chocolate with vanilla splodges and vanilla with chocolate splodges.
Nestle Rowntree announced last week that Girls Aloud will be promoting its new Kit Kat Senses product.
