Thatchers introduces new bottle design

April 30th, 2008

A new style of bottle – designed with the environment in mind – has been launched by cider brand Thatchers.

Thatchers Cider products will soon be available in a new 500ml-size bottle that was first trialled using its single variant products, Talking Retail reports.

Containing Thatchers Pear Cider and Thatchers Oak Matured, the new bottle is eco-friendly as it has been specially created to be lightweight

Managing director of the company Martin Thatcher described the benefits of the new packaging.

“The new, shorter bottle has stronger shelf presence, as well as being fridge friendly,” he said.

He added that the firm wanted to minimise package requirements.

Furthermore, Thatchers Gold will now be packaged in brown glass with a new neck design.

Coca-Cola recently redesigned its famous glass bottle so that it is strong but lightweight and is therefore friendlier to the environment than the original design.
