‘Convenient’ risottos launched

April 21st, 2008

Growing consumer desire for convenience is the reason behind a new range of risotto ready meals, Ardo UK has stated.

The firm is launching Risotto Funghi, Risotto Pomodore and Risotto Spinachi products to target customers looking for easy-to-prepare healthy meal options, Talking Retail reports.

According to Ardo UK, consumers simply need to add water to cook the products on the hob or in the microwave.

Each packet serves two people and it can be frozen if necessary.

Marketing manager of Ardo UK Simon Baxter commented on the versatility of the innovation.

“This range will appeal to busy people, who can simply enjoy the risotto as it is, or add their own finishing touches, such as a splash of wine, a handful of peas, or Parmesan shavings,” he said.

Risottos can be time consuming, he added, although they remain a popular dish.

Earlier this week, the Greencore Group introduced a new ready meal range under the Kiveton’s Kitchen brand.
