Cadbury announces packaging makeover

April 28th, 2008

A new packaging makeover for long-standing brand Cadbury has been announced by parent company Cadbury Trebor Bassett.

Its famous Dairy Milk product will now be wrapped in a matt-finish package and is to produced in a number of different sizes, Talking Retail reports.

A £17 million promotional campaign will support the overhaul, following the unprecedented success of last year’s gorilla adverts.

According to the news source, the new adverts will also be creative pieces of entertainment.

Trade communications manager at Cadbury Trebor Bassett Kate Harding remarked that a fresh look was needed for such a well-established product.

“Cadbury Dairy Milk has over 100 years of heritage and continues to be the number one chocolate brand in the UK, worth over £370 million in retail sales value,” she said.

A new product innovation was launched by Burton Foods for Cadbury in the run-up to Easter.

Cadbury Bunnies were a limited edition spin-off from its popular Animals range.
