The sausage roll category has a new contender as food giant Wall’s has launched a new product into the sector.
Wall’s Stroller is a prepackaged sausage roll that does not use puff pastry but a new unique recipe instead, Talking Retail reports.
Mark Brown, senior brand manager for Wall’s Stroller, told the news source of his excitement at the launch.
“The Wall’s Stroller is our chance to breathe life into the sausage roll market, offering something unique to the category,” he said, remarking on the need for innovation in the sector.
“All three variants performed strongly in vigorous consumer research outperforming the current category in key areas such as taste, texture and likelihood to buy,” he added.
There are also two variants alongside the original version of the Stroller, the brunch option and the cheese-topped variety.
Last week, bakery chain Sayers announced a revamp of the brand, which included the introduction of new products that may have included sausage rolls.
