Traditional tastes offered by Glendale Foods
A new range of traditional English puddings is to be offered by frozen food maker Glendale Foods following its acquisition of the Great British Pudding Company brand.
As reported by Talking Retail, the products will include savoury options such as Chicken and Leek, as well as a sweet variety – Summer Fruits pudding.
Managing director of Glendale Foods Paul Burkitt stated that there is demand for a greater variety of frozen products.
“There is recognised consumer demand for traditional British puddings, but nowadays people don’t have the time, or sometimes the skill, to prepare and cook them at home,” he told the news source.
He added that the portion size is “extremely generous” representing good value for money.
Furthermore, the products take just six minutes to cook in the microwave.
This news follows last week’s announcement that Unilever is to bring a number of new ready meals to the market place.
Brand names such as Bertolli, Knorr and Colman’s will be used to introduce the new products to the market.
