A new meat range has been offered to butchers and caterers in the north-west by Clifton Quality Meats.

Northern Gold is the name of the new brand and is a range of premium beef and lamb cuts that have been locally-sourced in the north-west of England, Meatinfo.co.uk reports.

Stephen Hellewell, the managing director of Clifton Quality Meats, commented on the benefits of local sourcing.

“We know that we can offer our customers a consistently flavoursome, succulent and quality product every time. We’re delighted to be able to work with and support local farmers who have helped to produce a brand we are very proud of,” he stated.

Furthermore, the products have been approved by the English Beef and Lamb Executive and awarded its Quality Standard Mark.

The products were showcased at Blackpool Football Club as part of the launch.

It was recently suggested the National Beef Association that the price of beef must rise in order to sustain the future of the industry.
